New FIBLOC® system for cutting and inserting insulation in blocks.

FIMEC Technologies and ADLER Technologies have brought their skills together to develop and patent an innovative process and equipment for automated cutting and insertion of different types of monolithic insulation: the FIBLOC® line, designed to provide industrial production rates while being particularly flexible and scalable.

Optimising the thermal resistance of walls is one of the main ways of reducing the energy consumption of buildings. Working in partnership, ADLER Technologies and FIMEC Technologies have developed a solution to increase the thermal resistance of blocks.

Suited to all types of insulation (glasswool , rockwool, polystyrene, polyurethane, etc.), the FIBLOC line is made up of an automatic cutting unit and an automated insertion unit guided by 3D vision.

Scalability and flexibility

Scalability and flexibility were watchwords in the development of FIBLOC. Great operating flexibility is obtained thanks to a line design that integrated these imperative conditions from the start. The flexibility of the line is further increased through the use of the latest developments in mechatronics and 3D vision, which give it intelligence and autonomy.

The line allows :

  • for example, panels and inserts with different formats to be handled without modification of the plant
  • automatic changing of production operation worksheets is the most remarkable concrete application of this.

The engineers developing the line were intent on making it scalable by creating a system of additional modules. It is possible, for example, to add:

  • a second supply and cutting line when production requires a mixed supply (rockwool and polystyrene for example),
  • a cutting waste management module,
  • or a module to inspect the quality of wool inserts by weighing them individually to validate their thermal performance.
